Abstract

This article examines the importance of linguistics in the field of language instruction and how it plays an essential role in promoting good language education. Building from the foundational branches of linguistics-phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics. Additionally, it illustrates how educators can use linguistic skills to identify students' misunderstandings, choose appropriate instructional methods, and develop effective communication abilities.. This is the claim of the integration of the linguistic theory into teaching, which is said to result in improved teaching behavior and learning.
