HOW COMMUNICATIVE TASKS IMPROVE STUDENTS FREE WRITING?

Abstract

In this article, I explore how communicative tasks can help students improve their free writing skills in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes. I used simple empirical methods such as classroom observation, student feedback, and analysis of writing tasks. Through these methods, I found that using communicative, task-based learning helps students write more fluently, clearly, and creatively. I also give real classroom examples that show how group discussions and collaborative writing activities increase students’ confidence and motivation. In addition, I suggest a new approach that mixes communicative tasks with digital storytelling and peer work to help students develop better writing skills.
