Abstract

This article examines at how linguistics helps in teaching languages. It explains how understanding language helps with communication, creating curricula, and teaching methods. It reviews basic linguistic theories like phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. These theories help shape teaching strategies and support students' learning. The article stresses that combining theory with practical application improves teaching. Teachers who understand language systems can better explain language patterns, correct mistakes, and promote good communication. It also covers new trends such as corpus linguistics and utilizing technology in language learning. These show that linguistics remains important today. The findings show that knowledge of linguistics helps teachers make lessons based on real context, improve pronunciation and grammar, and develop students’ ability to communicate in real situations.
