Abstract

This study explores the importance of public speaking in the training of future educators. While pedagogical knowledge and classroom management are commonly emphasized in teacher education programs, the ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently is equally vital. Public speaking fosters essential competencies such as clarity of thought, audience engagement, and persuasive delivery—skills that directly impact classroom effectiveness. This research presents the results of a student survey and follow-up interviews assessing the role of public speaking training in enhancing teaching readiness. Findings highlight that students who receive structured opportunities for public speaking demonstrate greater self-confidence, communication ability, and leadership potential. Recommendations are provided for integrating systematic public speaking practice in teacher training curricula.
