Abstract

This study investigates the impact of mobile games on vocabulary learning among secondary school students and examines how game-based applications influence learner motivation, engagement, and vocabulary retention.

The research employed a mixed-method approach, including pre-test and post-test assessments, classroom observations, questionnaires, and interviews. The findings revealed that students who participated in mobile game-based activities showed significant improvement in vocabulary retention, pronunciation, and contextual word usage. In addition, learners demonstrated higher levels of motivation and classroom participation compared to traditional vocabulary instruction.

The study also indicates that mobile games create an interactive and less stressful learning environment through multimedia support, repetition, and instant feedback. The results suggest that integrating mobile games into English language teaching can effectively enhance vocabulary acquisition and learner engagement.
