LINGUISTICS AND THE RELATED DISCIPLINES

Abstract

This article explores linguistics as the scientific study of language and examines its relationship with related academic disciplines. The aim of the study is to analyze the main branches of linguistics and to highlight its interdisciplinary connections with psychology, sociology, anthropology, computer science, education, and philosophy. The research applies descriptive and analytical methods to explain fundamental linguistic concepts and their practical applications. The findings demonstrate that linguistics extends beyond grammar and encompasses the study of sound systems, word structure, sentence formation, meaning, language change, and language use in social contexts. The study also shows that interdisciplinary cooperation enhances the understanding of language acquisition, communication processes, technological innovation, and cultural identity. The article concludes that linguistics plays a central role in understanding human cognition, social interaction, and cultural development in the modern world.
