Abstract

This study explores how English language instruction can be used as an effective tool for developing learners’ critical and creative thinking skills. In contemporary education, the goal is no longer limited to language accuracy, but also includes the ability to analyze information, evaluate different perspectives, and generate original ideas. The article examines the role of reading, writing, speaking, and interactive classroom activities in fostering higher-order thinking skills. Using a qualitative, classroom-based approach, the study analyzes teaching practices and learner responses in English lessons. The findings suggest that student-centered and communicative methods significantly contribute to the development of critical and creative thinking, making English lessons a powerful medium for cognitive growth.
