Abstract

Vocabulary is very important in learning a foreign language. It is especially important for writing. Many A2-level Uzbek learners of English have problems with writing because they do not know enough words. This study examines how limited vocabulary affects their writing skills. Writing tasks were used to collect data. The results show that vocabulary deficiency causes repetition, wrong word choice, and simple sentences. The study suggests that improving vocabulary can help learners write better.
