This study investigates the effect of similar-sounding words on A2-level learners’ listening comprehension. Listening is one of the most challenging skills for foreign language learners, especially when words sound similar in pronunciation. The research was conducted with 14 A2-level learners who were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received instruction supported by visual aids, pictures, demonstrations, and online quizzes and puzzles, while the control group was taught using traditional methods and worksheets. The results indicate that learners exposed to multimedia-based instruction demonstrated better listening comprehension and higher engagement compared to those taught through traditional methods. The findings suggest that using visual and interactive materials can reduce confusion caused by similar-sounding words and improve listening comprehension.
