Abstract

In this article, I explore the lexical and semantic problems of translation that I have personally encountered during my translation practice. I discuss issues such as choosing the correct meaning of polysemous words, finding suitable equivalents for idioms, and avoiding misinterpretations caused by insufficient attention to context. I also describe the challenges of translating culture-specific realia and the strategies I used to overcome them. The article highlights the importance of linguistic competence, contextual awareness, and the translator’s creativity in selecting appropriate equivalents.
