EFFECTIVE WAYS TO MEMORIZE ENGLISH WORDS

Abstract

increasing vocabulary plays a crucial role in English language learning. Many learners experience difficulties in memorizing and retaining new words for a long period of time. This article aims to present ten effective methods for vocabulary memorization that contribute to improving learners’ language proficiency. The proposed methods include repetition, learning words in context, visual association, flashcards, semantic grouping, mnemonic techniques, listening and speaking practice, reading activities and digital learning tools . These methods enhance memory retention, motivation, and active usage of vocabulary. The study concludes that combining several methods leads to more effective and long-term vocabulary learning.
