EFFECTIVE METHODS OF TEACHING GRAMMAR IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLASSROOMS

Abstract

The article examines effective methods of teaching grammar in foreign language classrooms and explores ways teachers can enhance their instructional skills. The research was conducted through classroom observations and interviews with English teachers and students at Namangan State Institute of Foreign Languages. The study identifies that combining deductive and inductive approaches, using communicative and contextualized tasks, and integrating visual and interactive techniques significantly improve learners’ grammar acquisition. It also highlights the challenges teachers face in balancing fluency and accuracy, managing mixed-ability groups, and incorporating digital tools. The findings underline the importance of ongoing teacher professional development and suggest that grammar instruction should move towards a more learner-centered and communicative model.
